Yankee Stadium
Bronx, NY · Stadium
You can bring one soft-sided bag no larger than 16" x 16" x 8" into a Yankee Stadium concert, plus one smaller soft-sided personal item such as a clutch, tote, or plastic grocery bag. Clear bags are not required, but hard-sided bags and containers of any size are refused at the gate. Enforcement here is strict and literal, since staff use bag-size bins at every entry point and your bag must fit without assistance, modification, or adjustment. The stadium also has no storage area of any kind, so a rejected bag means leaving the line to stash it somewhere else. The same standing carry-in policy covers concerts, soccer, football, and Yankees games, though the team warns that special rules may be enforced at specific events, so check your show's event page before heading to the Bronx. What gets in is simple, a soft bag that fits the bin, one small personal item, and water bottles within the published limits.

No bag that fits? Plan ahead
Yankee Stadium states plainly that there is no storage area for any items, and prohibited bags are refused rather than held. Paid luggage storage shops in Manhattan or near the 161st St stations are the practical fallback if you arrive with an oversized bag.
Common questions
Does Yankee Stadium require a clear bag?
No. Clear bags are not required. Any soft-sided bag up to 16" x 16" x 8" is admitted along with one smaller soft-sided personal item, while hard-sided bags of any size are prohibited.
Can I bring a backpack to a Yankee Stadium concert?
The policy does not ban backpacks by name, but every bag must be soft-sided and fit a 16" x 16" x 8" sizing bin without squeezing or adjusting. A small soft backpack that fits the bin passes the size test, while framed, hard-shell, and oversized backpacks are refused.
Is the bag policy different for concerts than for Yankees games?
The stadium applies the same standing carry-in policy to concerts, soccer, football, and baseball. The Yankees also warn that special rules may be enforced at specific events, so a tour can tighten the limits and your event page is the final word.
Is there bag storage at Yankee Stadium?
No. The official policy says there is no storage area for any items at Yankee Stadium, so a bag that fails inspection has to leave with you. Paid storage services elsewhere in the city are the only fallback.
Can I bring food or water into Yankee Stadium?
Yes within limits. Outside food for individual consumption is allowed, and fruit like apples and oranges must be sliced or sectioned. Empty reusable non-glass bottles up to 24 oz and clear factory-sealed plastic water up to 1 liter are permitted, while glass bottles and cans are not.
Getting there
Gates open
Public entry runs through Gates 2, 4, 6, and 8 around the stadium perimeter, and every guest passes through metal detectors, so arrive early on concert nights.
Parking
Garages and open lots sit within a few blocks of the park along River Ave, Jerome Ave, and E 161st St, and they fill fast on show nights, so reserve a spot ahead or take the train.
Public transit
The 4, B, and D subway lines stop at 161 St-Yankee Stadium directly outside the park, and Metro-North's Hudson Line serves the Yankees-E 153rd St station a short walk away.
Rideshare
Drop off along E 161st St or Jerome Ave near the stadium. After the show, expect pickup a few blocks out because of street closures and crowds, and the subway is usually the faster way back to Manhattan.
