Grand Casino Arena, once known as Xcel Energy Center, is one of the most active and well-equipped multi-use arenas in the upper Midwest. Located in downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota, this venue serves as the home to the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and hosts a mix of major concerts, wrestling events, family shows, and college sports. The rebranding to Grand Casino Arena reflects its new partnership and enhanced fan experience, but the atmosphere and event caliber remain strong.

Bag Policy and Security
The Grand Casino Arena enforces a bag policy designed to increase safety and reduce delays at the entrance. Clear bags up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches are permitted. Small clutches no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches are also allowed. Backpacks and oversized purses are not accepted, regardless of their transparency. All bags are subject to inspection, and guests are encouraged to limit what they bring. Diaper bags and medically necessary bags are exceptions but must pass through additional screening.
Guests should plan ahead if bringing a bag and consider using one of the arena’s lockers if arriving straight from work or travel.
Seating Overview
Grand Casino Arena offers several seating levels that cater to all types of events. For hockey, the lower bowl is popular among season ticket holders and fans wanting to stay close to the action. Concert configurations vary, but floor seating and 100-level sections offer strong views of the stage. The club level provides extra comfort and access to private lounges and upscale concessions, while suites offer privacy for groups.
Interactive seating charts on ticket sites give you a clear sense of the view from each section. For concerts, the layout will depend on the artist’s staging setup, so be sure to reference the specific event’s map when choosing your seats.
