Tucked into a reclaimed rock quarry just south of Nashville, FirstBank Amphitheater offers a unique open-air concert setting that’s surrounded by towering limestone walls and natural wooded scenery. It opened in 2021 and quickly gained a reputation for its beautiful layout and focus on sound quality and crowd experience.
This venue is newer compared to others in the region, but it has already drawn a wide range of performers including Chris Stapleton, Halsey, and The Lumineers. Its natural backdrop, combined with a modern stage and tiered seating design, makes it a favorite for fans looking for something that feels different from a standard amphitheater.
Seating and Layout
FirstBank Amphitheater is an all-outdoor venue with no roof, so weather can play a factor in the experience. The layout includes a mix of reserved seating and a spacious grass lawn area at the back. Sightlines are excellent across the board due to the amphitheater’s natural slope. Because it’s built into a former quarry, the acoustics have a distinctive quality, with sound bouncing in from the surrounding rock.
This setup offers a more intimate feel than some of the mega-venues while still holding a solid crowd.
Bag Policy
Like most major venues today, FirstBank Amphitheater enforces a clear bag policy. Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches are usually allowed. Guests should leave backpacks, large purses, and camera bags at home, as they will not be permitted. Every bag is subject to inspection at the entrance, so having a compliant bag helps make getting inside quicker.
Parking and Venue Experience
Parking is available but must be reserved ahead of time. The walk from the parking area to the venue entrance can be a bit long, and there are shuttles available for those who need assistance. Food and drink vendors are spaced throughout the venue with a good variety of options including cocktails, local beer, and popular concessions.
The entire area is designed with aesthetics and comfort in mind. Even basic things like lighting and landscaping contribute to the atmosphere. Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early to explore and enjoy the scenery before the show starts.
