9:30 Club in Washington, DC

You can bring a bag into 9:30 Club, and there is no clear bag rule and no published size limit, but every bag gets searched at the door and staff can send larger bags to the coat room at their discretion. The club says outright that it prefers you leave bags at home, so the smaller you pack the faster you get in. Coat check is seasonal at $5 per item, and in warmer months there is no place to check jackets or bags at all, which means a big backpack could leave you stuck at the door. Outside food and drinks are banned along with cans, bottles, and coolers, and camera rules change nightly at each band's discretion. Rules can tighten for specific shows, so check your event page on 930.com before you head out. A small purse you would carry into a restaurant sails through, while a stuffed backpack invites a longer search or a trip to the coat check.

Getting there

Gates open

Door times vary by show and are posted on each event page at 930.com. Bags are searched at the entrance, so arrive a few minutes early if you are carrying one.

Parking

The club runs its own lot at 2366 9th St NW, a few blocks north of the venue, for $20 online in advance or $25 on show night. Street parking in the U Street corridor is limited, so the lot or the Metro is the safer play.

Public transit

The club is two blocks from the U Street/African American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo station on Metro's Green and Yellow lines. Exit toward 10th Street to come out closest to the club.

Rideshare

Have your driver drop you on V St NW near the 9th St corner, right by the main entrance. After the show, walking a block off V St usually makes pickup faster.
